Damask Knit-a-Long 2

Progress made on this lovely shawl. Despite the way it looks, i.e. difficult, it really hasn't been too hard. The nupps got me for a while but providing I kept the loops loose they worked out fine. I'm looking forward to finishing it and blocking it. This is definitely a shawl I'll make again. If you want to join in with the KAL then here is the link to the Ravelry group. There is something really nice about a group of people all knitting the same thing and Oohing and Ahhing about each others efforts, adding comments and generally enjoying each others work.

A Two Post Day

For the first time in ages I have a weekend pretty much to myself. Hence another post. My sister has been wanting a pouch for her new digital camera, so using this great little tutorial from Keyka Lou, I rustled this up in no time at all today. I'm now sitting here wondering what to do next and have decided to alternate between the Damask Shawl and the Bow Tie Quilt. Desperately trying to finish something before starting something else.

I was going to go to Bramble Patch today but came to my senses. Must finish stuff! Must finish stuff!

Damask Knit-A-Long

I wasn't going to, I have so many knitting and sewing projects on the go, but when I saw this knitalong on Martine's blog, I just had to do it. Not only was Martine involved but also Chloe who has made a damask shawl before. There is a group on imake's forum on ravelry, here is the link to the pattern. So now there are quite a few knitters involved. It is a lovely pattern, I'm using a skein of Easyknits Cherish in gun metal grey, it goes from almost black to pale grey. It's going to look great with all the purple I seem to be wearing at the moment. This pattern takes you from the longest edge to the shortest, so the more that is knitted the shorter the rows get and the quicker it goes. My kind of knitting.
