Every Project Needs a Bag

I really love this fabric, it's Clarke and Clarke again and although I bought it to make aprons, I couldn't resist making a bag, I should have enough left for one apron at least. I used the Morsbag pattern which is quick and easy and as the title of the blog post says, every project needs a bag. My sock yarn blanket is going to make a home in this bag.

I Won!

I'm chuffed to bits that I have won a metre of fabric from Seamstar for these placemats which I made with fabric from Seamstar and that I posted on their Flickr group. Sorry sentence too long. Anyway I have chosen Dan Stiles Organics - Marine - Urchin Forest Sunset[F/1244] First competition I have won through blogland, hopefully won't be the last. Lucky me!

Bird Cushion

Mmm not sure about this one, I'll try it on Ebay and see if it sells, As I have used Cath Kidston for the birds and the trim on the back it should go, people love Cath Kidston!

Grab Bag

Saw this and had to try the pattern, I used this one from All People Quiltshttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif I did however, put a circular base on it which I padded with wadding, I didn't use wadding on the main part of the bag as the fabric I used was Clarke and Clarke light upholstery fabic which has enough body to hold the bag. Love the result and I'm hoping the bag will hold my meagre packed lunch when I go back to school next week. This will be something I make again as I'm sure if made a little larger they will hold a small craft project such as socks!

There is a Zippy Pouch for Everything!

John was jealous that I had a zippy pouch for my camera and he didn't have one for his. So I made him this one out of the last tiny bit of lovely elephant fabric from Anna's quilt. Just had to go with the red spot for the inside, there was no option.

On My Needles

I took this project to Florence to do. Problem was I obviously couldn't knit on the plane and neither could I knit at the Barn as I found it impossible to knit sitting in a deck chair! These are basic socks as per my pattern that goes in my sock kits. The yarn is German, 'Online' is the brand. Pretty though.

Florence Holiday

John and I have just returned from a lovely week in Florence. I have been before and have seen the wonders of the Uffici and Pitti Palace but John had not. However as Florence had a free week where most of the large galleries and museums were free, the queues to get in were horendous. The only thing I really wanted to see this time was Michael Angelo's David and the Slaves. The queue defeated me so it will have to wait for another time. Hopefully another time soon as we stayed with friends who live a spit away from the Duomo for part of the time and in a glorious converted barn on the outskirts of the city for the rest of the time. The Barn was beautiful, quiet, peaceful and with the amazing song of nightingales all night. My over riding memory of this holiday will be the nightingales and the smell and sight of wisteria, in full bloom, simply stunning. We also met some lovely people and ate great food. A good holiday all round I think.

Elephants Baby Quilt

Love the colours and the label and all of it. I hope the recipient loves it as much as I do.
