Today's Projects

I have been so busy doing other things it seems like ages since I sat at my sewing machine and made anything. So today, after watching England beat Georgia in the Rugby World Cup I did some sewing. Firstly I made 2 more blocks for the Farmers Wife Sampler Quilt Along. I'm way behind, but at least today I made 2 blocks. Also today I made a Union Jack Cushion, I love these and have put the one I made today on Ebay.

Loving Half Term

I've been having a lovely time not being at school. Yesterday I made three cushions, two from some beautiful floral fabric from Clarke and Clarke. The other with a bundle of fat quarters in muted and washed out pinks. I'm not sure whether to put these on Ebay or to open a Folksy shop. I'd love to put them on Folksy, not only is it cheaper for me but also we should be supporting the handmade in all its glory. But its just not as 'out there' as Ebay. Today I made three log cabin pin cushions and bought zips to make up a few sock knitting kits. Again decisions, Ebay or Folksy for these too.

I finally got around to planting up my window boxes, I've gone with a white theme this year, the plants are far too small to look anything just yet, but give them a few weeks and hopefully they will look lovely. As soon as there is anything to see I'll put pictures. I did have a look at last years on my blog for inspiration, handy things, blogs.

Wow!

One parcel sent off and two waiting to go. I can't get over that people like my sock kits so much that they are paying the Buy It Now price and not going through the auction to buy them. I now have no sock kits on Ebay and none ready to go as I have run out of needles. I'm out at Olympia on Friday so Saturday I'll be at my sewing machine. Oh dear :-)

Green Owls Baby Quilt

This has turned out better than I thought it would. A simple pattern and construction that has made a lovely quilt. I wish I had a baby to give it to. No matter, it's listed on Ebay. I've no idea if anyone will want it but you have to be in it to win it. I also made another sock kit to go on Ebay, I can't keep up with demand at the moment so that's good.

Selling Sock Kits!

And another one sells! Yay! I've got so much to do this half term that once this one that I put on Ebay today sells I can't put anymore on until I make some more pouches. I've got some of the Cath Kidston floral left and I bought some lovely fabric at Hanson's in Sturminster Newton the other day to make more. Anyway, here is a picture of 8 balls of yarn that arrived today to go into sock kits. I also had to quickly make a set of row markers as I've run out of those too. It's all going terriby well.

Very Excited!!

Amazingly, today I sold two sock kits! One of them went on Ebay in the usual way and then I had an email from a lovely lady in Biggleswade via Ebay asking if I could 'Buy It Now' one for her. So I did. I'm thinking that 'Buy It Now' might be better than auction so I've put another one on with both auction and 'Buy It Now' This is with Drops Fabel yarn and the pouch is with Cath Kidston fabric.

New on Ebay

I've just put these socks on Ebay I'm thinking about whether to open an Ebay shop, I'm not sure if at the moment it would pay for itself as I'm not selling very much, people seem to like the sock kits and this is the first time I've put socks on, so I'll have to see how they go. Obviously I make less on the socks as they take about 10 to 12 hours to knit whereas I can put together sock kits much quicker once the pouch is made. I'd better get on with making some more!

Finished Place Mats

These are the place mats finished. The fabric was from Seamstar, detailed on my previous post when I had completed one of them. The fabric bundle was just right with 6 or 7 fat quarters, that's enough for the patchwork top, the backing and the borders. I love them! They make the table look really springlike and fresh. Today too I did the RSPB Bird Watch, I saw a total of 7 different species, not as many as most people but that did include 4 goldfinches. Oh and today I sold my first sock kit, on Ebay for less than I would have hoped but I have made a profit. I'm tempted to take one off my Etsy site and put it on Ebay, I seem to have more luck. As my sister says, no one's heard of Etsy.

Busy Weekend.

I've been busy again! Two sock kits, one to my sister for her birthday and one for Ebay. Also a try out tea cosy, very easy but I think I made the loop at the top too big. Also I was keen to put it together to see how it went so only did decorative blanket stitch around one of the stars. It would have ben much prettier if I had done it around lots of the stars in the different colours. Also this weekend I finished the first of a friends socks and have started the second. Her husband is going to be 50 so I have knitted 50 around the top of the socks. I'm using Zauberball yarn again, I love it, it's soft and knits up beautifully. I have also put a set of sock knitters row markers on Ebay. I love crafty weekends!
