Busy Sunday

I only seem to be able to blog at the weekends, too busy during the week. So here goes with the latest. Friday I went to Stitch and Craft at Olympia, to be honest, I was disappointed. Maybe because I am so used the hugeness of Knitting and Stitching at Ally Pally, there wasn't much fabric or much yarn, only a handful of stands. Usefully though Fabrics Galore were there so I was able to get some fabric from them. I also found ribbons, buttons, some yarn for a mohair shawl and a gorgeous cross stitch kit of chickens.
Yesterday I made four zippy pouches for sock knitting kits. I've run out and have none for sale on Ebay.
Today I put the kits together and made a zippy pouch for Tom's tablet, I measured carefully but didn't take into account the zip would make the opening narrower than the width of the pouch, so I really hope it fits. I've used the left over bits from Anna's baby quilt, only because he saw it and said he wanted it. C'est la vie.
I don't think the pictures are going to end up on this post in the places I want them to be in. Going to stop here as I have more to write and show.

Wow!

One parcel sent off and two waiting to go. I can't get over that people like my sock kits so much that they are paying the Buy It Now price and not going through the auction to buy them. I now have no sock kits on Ebay and none ready to go as I have run out of needles. I'm out at Olympia on Friday so Saturday I'll be at my sewing machine. Oh dear :-)

Busy Day Sewing

I've made two new sock kits to go onto Ebay, one in Clarke and Clarke fabric with lovely green gingham check inside and the other one in the Cath Kidston fabric I bought the other day with pink stripe inside. I love them both. Also I have two commissions for baby boy quilts, can't wait to get started on these, I love making baby quilts. My sister wants a tea cosy as her husband set fire to the one she had, maybe he didnt like it! I don't think I have time to go to work!

Selling Sock Kits!

And another one sells! Yay! I've got so much to do this half term that once this one that I put on Ebay today sells I can't put anymore on until I make some more pouches. I've got some of the Cath Kidston floral left and I bought some lovely fabric at Hanson's in Sturminster Newton the other day to make more. Anyway, here is a picture of 8 balls of yarn that arrived today to go into sock kits. I also had to quickly make a set of row markers as I've run out of those too. It's all going terriby well.

Very Excited!!

Amazingly, today I sold two sock kits! One of them went on Ebay in the usual way and then I had an email from a lovely lady in Biggleswade via Ebay asking if I could 'Buy It Now' one for her. So I did. I'm thinking that 'Buy It Now' might be better than auction so I've put another one on with both auction and 'Buy It Now' This is with Drops Fabel yarn and the pouch is with Cath Kidston fabric.

Zippy Pouches for Sock Kits

Two more zippy pouches made for sock kits. The pink is Cath Kidston fabric bought at the Cath Kidston factory shop in St Neots. This is a great find, not only fabric but lots of lovely pretty things. I'm not going to use King Cole yarn in these kits, I'm using Drops Fabel instead. This will make them a little more expensive but hopefully worth it. I have sold a few of these on Ebay so here's to a few more. The kits make lovely gifts and it isn't that hard to knit socks. Such a feeling of satisfaction and so cosy and pretty. It's a win, win really.

Girlie Pink!

A busy weekend at the sewing machine and fabric buying. Friday I went to Fabrics Galore. I had a great time fondling and crooning over lovely fabric at terrific prices. I'm so dedicated that I walked the mile from Glapham Common Station to Lavender Hill and back again in the rain to shop there! Saturday I made the bags which will contain my sock knitting kits that are going to go in my Etsy shop when it finally opens and when I have made and gathered together all the things that need to go into the kit. Today I made this cushion for Anna's daughter. If I were a girl of 10, I would love it. I also made the front of another cushion, as yet unfinished, also for the shop. I'm now going to spend the next hour or so making the row markers with beads to go into the kits. Busy, busy, busy. Love it!

New Year, New Ideas.

I'm working on items for my Etsy shop. I've given the blog a bit of a new look and hope to put many socks, sock kits, other knits and sews in my shop. A new venture for me, let's see how it goes. These cushions will appear in the shop before very long, pretty eh!
