Creating a Wardrobe

It's so exciting getting a parcel from Seamstar I knew what I had ordered, obviously, but I love the way it's wrapped in pink tissue with a turquoise ribbon in a bow. The fabric is Lotta Jansdotter cotton. I'm going to make this skirt . The pattern book is 'Island' by Jane Richmond, at the moment I'm undecided about whether the skirt needs a scarf to go with it,

or this lovely little cardigan. I may make both. What do you think? I did have plans to do lots of dressmaking after Easter, but events have conspired against me so again, plans on hold! Will I ever be able to retire and just knit and sew?

I Won!

I'm chuffed to bits that I have won a metre of fabric from Seamstar for these placemats which I made with fabric from Seamstar and that I posted on their Flickr group. Sorry sentence too long. Anyway I have chosen Dan Stiles Organics - Marine - Urchin Forest Sunset[F/1244] First competition I have won through blogland, hopefully won't be the last. Lucky me!

Finished Place Mats

These are the place mats finished. The fabric was from Seamstar, detailed on my previous post when I had completed one of them. The fabric bundle was just right with 6 or 7 fat quarters, that's enough for the patchwork top, the backing and the borders. I love them! They make the table look really springlike and fresh. Today too I did the RSPB Bird Watch, I saw a total of 7 different species, not as many as most people but that did include 4 goldfinches. Oh and today I sold my first sock kit, on Ebay for less than I would have hoped but I have made a profit. I'm tempted to take one off my Etsy site and put it on Ebay, I seem to have more luck. As my sister says, no one's heard of Etsy.

One down Five to go

One completed placemat with a pack of 'The Minds Eye' fabric from SeamStar I love the bright springy colours. I have put together the other 5 but they're not quilted or bound yet. That's a job for next weekend.
